Ahmed came to Spain 19 years ago and recently got the Spanish citizenship. He works as a social and religion tutor at a shelter for unaccompanied minors, ages 13-18, who immigrated illegally to Spain via bus or ship. We meet him with Ibrahim and Ferid at the Intercultural Foundation Centre in a suburban area called Playa De Puntambria, in Macarena, Sevilla.
A little bit nervous at the beginning, Ahmed asks us not to film or record our conversation and tells us that the community’s spiritual leader can’t make it.

The most discriminated minority in Europe

A survey among minorities and immigrants reveals that the Roma minority is the most vulnerable to discrimination in Europe.
The Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) of the European Union today published the first survey on the scale of the European Union (EU) on discrimination and racist crime experienced by immigrants and ethnic minorities.
The investigation revealed that discrimination, harassment and racial violence are much more prevalent than official statistics indicate. Our own investigations found that the Roma minority in Seville in Spain say they live under inhuman conditions in slums.
